Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to see a therapist?

Usually, you can schedule a first appointment with a therapist within a couple of weeks of reaching out to them. Sometimes, you may even be able to see them within a few days. The availability of therapists depends on your schedule, the time of year, and how full the counselors schedule is when you reach out.

How long does the average person stay in therapy?

Some people come to therapy with a specific issue or concern, and brief solution-focused therapy may be the right fit. Often, that can last eight to ten sessions. Some people come to therapy to explore issues that seem to run a little deeper. They might engage in therapy for several months or perhaps years.

How many clients have you had with similar circumstances to my own?

Therapists at ADHD New England have experience treating numerous clients, of different ages and diverse backgrounds,  with a variety of diagnoses. We understand the etiology of all diagnoses and can support you.

What type of therapy do you think will be of the most help to my child?

Every child is a unique wonderful being, with a specific set of strengths and challenges. Our therapists provide warm and nonjudgmental environment to help children believe in themselves while using play based, goal-oriented evidence-based techniques to work on the challenges. We always include parents in any approach that we use, to inform and nurture the relationship.

Do you take insurance?
